Turf Heroes
Horse racing is firmly entrenched in the Australian psychy, ever since Archer walked from Nowra in NSW to Flemington to win that first cup way back in 1861, horse racing in Australian has been blessed with many heroes of our turf, both horse and human. They dont have to be Champions like Pharl Lap, Tulluch or Kingston Town, but they did embody all things that we value, courage, tenacity, a will to win and a never say die attitude.
Some Race Horses dont have blue blood breeding, they weren’t expensive million dollar yearling, some like current hero Takeover Target were bought for not much more than a song, but they had something far more important, they showed qualities that all Australians hold dear, they battle on through all the odds and never quit. That is a true horse racing hero you know them, you have watched them, and you have admired them.
Here at chaffbandits.com we be covering some of these noble beasts, looking at what made them horse racing Heroes, where possibe photos and video of there performances shall be provided.
So come along and join us in our journey through the past, bring back memories and relive moments of true horse racing Greatness.
