U.K Horse Racing
Chaff bandits aren’t specifically Australian, these horse racing bandits are a world wide phenomenon, it doesn’t matter which country you prefer to bet in, they are there to get you.
Our UK Horse racing page is dedicated to hopefully helping the poor forlorned punter in his quest for fianancial survival mainly on English horse racing and lets face it, although us aussies won’t admit it, England is the home of some of the best horse racing in the world, but just so our pommie friends dont get too big a head, it is also the home of some of the worst, but more on that at a later date.
Basically the plan here is to keep readers up to date with the classic horse races run in the UK, with race reviews and video replays of the major events.
The first horse racing classic of the flat season was won by Henrythenavigator in the 2000 Guineas, Henrythenavigator and runner up New Approach look to have bright futures ahead of them and appear likely to meet again in the Irish 2000 Guineas run at the Curragh.
The 1000 Guineas was won by the French filly Natagora she won very well, but there were a couple of hard luck stories here so although the winner is well worth following, a couple of the runners that finished just in behind could also be worth a look over the next few weeks. Nahoodh was extremely unlucky getting blocked for a run when finishing her race of very strongly, Saoirse Abu also ran on strongly and could be worth putting into the blackbook, both Nahoodh and Saoirse Abu are entered for the Irish 1000 Guineas and if they can reproduce their Newmarket form then both will be winning chances, interestingly enough Saoirse Abu has a win over Henrythenavigator in the Phoenix Stakes last year when a 2yo, other runners that appear to have a geniune winning chance are Mad About You and Caribbean Sunset.
The Irish 2000 Guineas is run the day before on the 24th and the leading chances appear to be Henrythenavigator and New Approach and as with the fillies, if they run up to their Newmarket form then both will be exceptionally hard to beat, Henrythenavigators win at Newmarket was first rate, although his chances may be affected if there is any rain closer to race day, New Approach did everything right at Newmarket and if he repeats that effort will be hailed as the winner at some stage in the run, other runners that appear to have a geniune chance is the Dermot Weld trained Famous Name, Dermot is well known here in Oz through the exploits of his Melbourne cup winners Vintage Crop and Media Puzzle, Jupiter Pluvius is another runner worthy of consideration, he missed the Newmarket Guineas through a minor injury but does look to be a promising horse in the making
Replays of both Newmarket races can be found by following there respective links.
